Abraham's Sacrifice

 

Last week we learned that God would bless Abraham and Sarah with a son. Today, we will read about the birth of Isaac and Abraham’s sacrifice. Abraham’s faith was tested when the Lord asked him to sacrifice Isaac on an altar. At the last moment, when Abraham displayed his willingness to obey God, an angel told him to stop, and the Lord provided a ram in a thicket. Today’s key verse and Bible verse for the week is Genesis 22:13 – And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and behold him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
