Homeschool Help After Hurricane Harvey

While it is perhaps only a small help - given the large losses that some have sustained - I would like to add a Homeschool Help section to THE Book Nook to help replace curriculum that was destroyed in the latest disaster. So many homeschool families in Southeast Texas have lost their curriculum, and we can help! Please consider donating your extra/unused curriculum and help a homeschool family replace what was lost and get back on track with their home education.

Here is what we need:
New or Like New Curriculum (current editions please)
New or Unopened School Supplies
Cash Donations to help with shipping cost

The Plan:
Over the next month, we will collect items and cash donations. You can mail your donations to THE Book Nook, 6235 Hwy 69 South, Kountze, TX 77625. Cash donations can be made directly to PayPal through susanmreed22@yahoo.com.

Once families are able to settle down and get back into the homeschool routine, they can contact THE Book Nook stating what they specifically need, and if we have the items, we will ship them to the families.

  1. This is such a kind and generous way to help those affected by the Storm. I appreciate your helping them and will be sharing your post with my friends and family. As the more who see the post the more help we can get for these families.

  3. Can you go to P.O. and have them weigh it and give you a price for a specific shipping method? Then, someone can offer to pay the shipping costs?

    1. Debby, if you're referring to the recent post by Candace, if you are able to pay for shipping these materials, that would be great!

  4. I have a bunch of Bju and some abeka I was recently going to sell but would love to donate to this cause. They are mostly teachers editions as well as some student text. Would that be accepted? To clarify do I send these books to the address above and would it matter if it's in a couple boxes? I would be sending it media mail. Thank you.

    1. Yes, feel free to ship in a couple boxes to the address above, and media mail is the cheapest way to ship books. Thank you for helping!

  5. It's good that the book Nook is doing this and I applaud them for it but any curriculum whether it's new or like-new condition school supplies whether they're new or like-new condition going to be appreciated. And ask around in your area there are trucks leaving for Texas all the time and you can probably add your school supplies to one of the trucks already going then you don't have to pay for shipping
