Did you wake up this morning wishing you could just have
a few hours or an entire day to yourself? Imagine what you could do with that
amount of unscheduled time? You could read a book, window-shop, take a friend
you haven’t seen in months to lunch, or spend the day at a homeschool mom
summit.
Every homeschool mom treasures moments for herself when
they come, but the problem is they rarely come on their own. As any mom can
attest, we tend to get so focused on others that we neglect ourselves; and
that’s not good for anyone. When we fail to make time for ourselves, we lose
our joy, and homeschooling makes for one repetitious day after the next.
Maybe you could call a fellow homeschool friend and ask
her if she would be willing to trade off watching each other’s children. Maybe
you could ask your husband to use a vacation day. God knows you cannot
homeschool on your own. Psalm 28:6-7 reads “Blessed be the LORD, because he
hath heard the voice of my supplication. The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusteth in him, and I am helped.” Ask God to help you find a way to get
some much needed mom time. Besides, your children will enjoy homeschooling
more, with a happy homeschool mom.
